چکیده

We exploit the common constraint of having a right angle corner of two rectangular planes in the scene in order to calibrate a perspective projection camera and compute its pose relative to the coordinate system defined by the corner. No metric information about the corner is assumed. The camera is constrained to have its image x and y axis to be orthogonal with the same scale factor, which is valid for most real world cameras. We then reproject the image of the corner to an arbitrary viewpoint. We can also compute the metric properties of the scene up to scale. We report experimental results with subjectively acceptable quality. The approach shows the power of exploiting constraints that are abundant in typical architectural scenes.

Probabilistic Object Models for Pose Estimation in 2D Images

We present a novel way of performing pose estimation of known objects in 2D images. We follow a probabilistic approach for modeling objects and representing the observations. These object models are suited to various types of observable visual features, and are demonstrated here with edge segments. Even imperfect models, learned from single stereo views of objects, can be used to infer the maxi...

Using Geometric Constraints for Camera Calibration and Positioning and 3d Scene Modelling

This work concerns the incorporation of geometric information in camera calibration and 3D modelling. Using geometric constraints enables stabler results and allows to perform tasks with fewer images. Our approach is interactive; the user defines geometric primitives and constraints between them. It is based on the observation that constraints such as coplanarity, parallelism or orthogonality, ...

Learning Monocular 3D Human Pose Estimation from Multi-view Images

Accurate 3D human pose estimation from single images is possible with sophisticated deep-net architectures that have been trained on very large datasets. However, this still leaves open the problem of capturing motions for which no such database exists. Manual annotation is tedious, slow, and error-prone. In this paper, we propose to replace most of the annotations by the use of multiple views,...

Modeling Pose/Appearance Relations for Improved Object Localization and Pose Estimation in 2D images

We propose a multiview model of appearance of objects that explicitly represents their variations of appearance with respect to their 3D pose. This results in a probabilistic, generative model capable of precisely synthesizing novel views of the learned object in arbitrary poses, not limited to the discrete set of trained viewpoints. We show how to use this model on the task of localization and...

Plant Classification in Images of Natural Scenes Using Segmentations Fusion

This paper presents a novel approach to automatic classifying and identifying of tree leaves using image segmentation fusion. With the development of mobile devices and remote access, automatic plant identification in images taken in natural scenes has received much attention. Image segmentation plays a key role in most plant identification methods, especially in complex background images. Wher...
